Tumblr is the only place I can read things like:

“Arya Stark becomes a complete sociopath!”

“Tyrion Lannister is a horrible human being!”

“Robb Stark is far more interesting character than Jon Snow!”

“Cersei Lannister is really smart and…

Everyone who isn’t us is an enemy.

I have so much love for Cersei and I find it really hard to understand why fandom seems to hate her. Is she really any worse than Jaime or Robert or any of the dozen characters who’ve raped and maimed their way through life? I have difficulty sometimes deciding if she’s being manipulated by others or if she’s the one doing the manipulating and I think that’s part of the reason why I find her so fascinating. It’s clear from the outset that she’s been subject to patriarchal rule from the day of her birth and she’s one of the few female characters who takes any kind of a stand against that. She might not have attempted to seize the throne in the most honourable way but neither did Robert or Aegon I. And anyway, why should she? Because she’s a woman and we therefore except her to be kinder and sweeter and more docile than the men? Screw that. Queen Cersei Lannister all the way.

I need to write meta about Bel Rowley and the way she relates to other women. But, for now:

SANSA STARK (asked by carpe-cerevisi & iwhospeakawkwardly) ; RAVENCLAW
Do not even try to posit with me that Sansa’s naivety at the start of the series makes her an unlikely candidate for Ravenclaw, because if that is your argument, think about Luna Lovegood for a moment. Initially perceived by her peers (and the reader at large) to be naively invested in nonsensical things, Luna eventually proves herself to be far more clairvoyant than anyone originally assumed. Sansa seems to be on a fairly similar (though obviously not identical) track. She is a young girl when the reader meets her, her head full of songs and stories and the promises both led her to believe life might fulfill, but it is the progression of Sansa’s arc that tells us far more about who she truly is than our initial impressions of her. She may be a Stark by name and a Tully by nature, but Sansa is ultimately much more of a thinker than any Stark or Tully we have ever met.Through the passage of time and the endurance of great personal tragedy, Sansa only very rarely allows herself to be blinded by emotion in a way that is so characteristic of the rest of her family. Indeed, there are moments where she speaks before thinks (and instantly regrets doing so), but more often than not, Sansa has a careful tongue where her kin has none. She is a keen observer who takes that which she observes into account for future reference and use. She has a thirst for understanding the way the people around her operate. She also takes great care to commit to memory important pieces of information, something which earns her criticism from other characters (Sandor Clegane calls her a ‘little bird’ who can only mimic what she is taught), but is actually continually serving her in her evolution from piece to player in the game of thrones.
